עיריית ירושלים, באמצעות מינהל התפעול, שתלה את מיצב הפרחים הצהובים בצורת סמל החטופים אל מול גן הפעמון. המיצב מציג במרחב הציבורי את חסרונם של החטופים על רקע חג החירות הקרב ומסמל את התקווה לחזרתם המהירה בשלום
בשבוע הבא, משפחות ישראל בכל רחבי הארץ יציינו את חג החירות ויסבו לשולחן הסדר. במהלך הסדר, כשתישאל השאלה האלמותית "מה נשתנה הלילה הזה?", נדע כולנו שהרבה השתנה ושליל הסדר הזה שונה מאלה שקדמו לו. לאחר חצי שנה של מלחמה, בה איבדה מדינת ישראל את טובי בניה, 133 ישראלים עדיין חטופים בשבי החמאס וטעמו של חג החירות ימהל בטעם השבי הנורא והסבל הבלתי אפשרי, אותו הם חווים באופן יומיומי כבר תקופה ארוכה.
במהלך חג הפסח הקרוב בו יפקדו מבקרים רבים, ישראלים ושאינם ישראלים, את ירושלים ואת אתריה השונים. עיריית ירושלים בחרה לשתול פרחי טגטס צהובים מעוצבים בצורת סמל החטופים בצהוב, עם הכיתוב: "מחכים לכם", שיבטא את הקריאה הרמה לשובם של החטופים ואת תפילת כל עם ישראל לשלומם.
לטובת המיצב נשתלו כ- 5,000 פרחי טגטס צהובים וכתומים על רקע פרחי פטוניה כחולה ולבנה. מקומו של המיצב אינו מקרי והוא נשתל מול גן הפעמון, בדרך העולה לעיר העתיקה ובמוקד התנועה התיירותית המרכזית בעיר.

"לאורך ההיסטוריה היהודית היוותה ירושלים סמל לגעגוע, לתקוותו של עם ישראל לשוב הביתה לארצו ולכמיהה היהודית לחירות. לא לחינם מזוהה חג החירות עם התפילה שנועלת את סדר פסח ושנאמרה במשך שנים על ידי יהודים בכל רחבי העולם: "לשנה הבאה בירושלים הבנויה". כולנו תפילה שהחטופים יהיו כאן איתנו לחגוג את ליל הסדר בירושלים! חושבים עלכם ומתפללים"
